Tell the truth, don't misrepresent, answer questions, never disparage other institutions of higher learning, listen actively, get to know your perspective students, their needs wants and desires, dig deep as it pertains to what their real motivation is. It's old school and it still works. Follow up, follow up, Follow up. Be an encourager and source of honest ethical motivation. Treat them like you would want to be treated if it were you on the other side of the desk. Let them talk and listen! 

What are the most effective ways to obtain, solid PDL's, PDR's and Referrals? From current students and prospective students?

I understand that times of economic uncertainty can feel overwhelming and as you made me aware you are dealing with financial stress and challenges in balancing school with family time and additional personal responsibilities. These are real life situations, but they don't have to hinder you from moving forward in pursuit of your dreams, goals and aspirations. Don't get me wrong, it’s okay to acknowledge how difficult things may feel right now, but with the necessary hard work and commitment to achieve your goal you can succeed.

It is of vital improtance to be honest with students and prospective students. If it were you or a loved one sitting on the other side of the desk, wouldn't each one of us want the Rep to be honest, open and transparent with us?

In my experience highly successful admissions representatives have developed the ability to listen in silence to prospective studnets, especially when the student is discussing their needs wants and desires. The more knowledge you have about your prospective student, the better equipped you are to ask the right follow up questions, obtain the information you are sseking, help them over come what they may look at as obstacles to success and help them chenge their quality of life through education.
