I think using multiple types of teaching methods can be helpful, including videos, lectures, and in-class assignments. By utilizing multiple means, we are helping students who have vastly different learning styles and personalities.
In a large class, how can we be intentional about connecting with each student and knowing the details of their story/life? What could this look like in practice?
I like how this module emphasized the importance of knowing students personally. This establishes a connection between student and teacher and lets students know they are supported and cared for.
I like how this module talked about setting measurable goals for our students. This is something I have thought about for myself, but not from the perspective of a teacher. I believe this will benefit me as a professor.
One thing that has stood out to me in this module is the importance of incorporating fun into the classroom, and setting the tone for your classroom. This isn't something I have given much thought about up to this point, except for the obvious creating a positive environment, but this is definitely something that I would like to try to incorporate into my classroom.
One thing that I found interesting in this module was how it described adult learners bringing their own experiences from the working world into the classroom. This is something I haven't thought much about, but I believe it will be helpful to keep in mind as I start my first class.
