I've learned that engaging students is an important way for the students to learn effectively through discussions, online study groups, tutoring hours, etc.

I learned that being aware of students' learning styles and potential problem behaviors is important in helping them receive the support they need so all students feel engaged and successful.

I learned that asynchronous discussions are more helpful generally than synchronous because of differences in learners schedules, time zones, and how quickly they can read and type. Asynchronous discussion allows all learners to participate more equally.

I can help students feel engaged, heard, and respected by introducing myself and getting to know them through biographies. Creating ways for students to ask questions and interact with myself and other students will help them feel more comfortable.

It's important that the set up is user friendly and that I'm familiar with how to use the site so I can help students when questions arise.

I learned that varying how instruction is delivered helps students stay engaged and learn better as there are different learning styles.

Bringing a notebook to write down important info is helpful in getting to know the students, making adjustments as necessary to the class, and remembering everything that needs to be done.

I learned the best way to be successful as an instructor is to be prepared. By having a syllabus with objectives, assignments and exams, grading policies, etc. the students know what to expect and it helps me stay on track and remember everything we need to cover. Getting there early to focus on getting to know the students and checking in with them helps to overcome nervousness.

I've learned that the best way to help students feel excited and engaged is by being excited and engaged myself by having lesson plans ready. I also will reflect on how I did and what to focus on improving.
