Investing time in instructing students and maintaining patience during their skill development is crucial for fostering their growth. This principle holds true in the context of staff development within education. Evolving is the key.

Soft skills make it easier for instructors to engage with students and make connections. EQ influences IQ.

I learned to manage and monitor the "red-flag" behavior of some students and find interesting ways to dilute their negativity.

I have 2 really chatty students in the same class. For the most part, I pair them up on assignments so they can tire each other out. I think I like the observer method because it requires them to stay focused while giving their input.

One of the most important things I learned is that you must set some sort of expectations for the students so they can be prepared for classes. Some classes require more discussion topics and other classes are skill-dependent. Allowing students the chance to reflect and critically think about the course creates more interest in the topics covered. I love using ice breakers and games to make the class more interesting.
