I’ve gained a solid understanding of what several departments are responsible for and how their work shapes the overall student experience. I’ve also learned how accreditation influences higher education and why it matters for both institutions and students. In addition, understanding how transfer credits are evaluated, received, and issued allows me to guide students more accurately and confidently. By applying this knowledge, I can help distinguish our institution from others and better support students throughout their journey.

How can an agent effectively support students by understanding institutional policies, program expectations, departmental roles, and the full range of services that shape the student experience as a whole?

Understanding the responsibilities of each department and building a strong network with colleagues across those areas is essential for staying informed about changes that affect my role. It is equally important to know the programs we offer and what the student experience will look like from start to finish, so I can guide students with clarity and confidence. Being aware of the services our institution provides beyond academics also helps me support students more holistically. As an agent, I am committed to maintaining strong relationships throughout the institution to enhance the overall student experience.

Understanding where information is stored—and keeping it organized and accessible—is essential for supporting students effectively. Conducting a thorough interview also ensures that each student clearly understands the terms and conditions of their enrollment.
