It will be important for me to give detailed expectations for communication etiquette.  I like the idea of using a rubric to communicate expectations for online discussions.

I am planning to add a FAQ board to my online course in an effort to make communication more effective and efficient.  I plan to get feedback on the communication tools that I implement throughout and at the end of the course.

Face-to-face lessons cannot be translated exactly into online lessons.  I will need to evaluate all types of information sharing technologies and make sure that I am not sidetracked by the latest fad or bells and whistles that don't help me deliver the learning objectives to my students.

It will be important for me to establish clear guidelines for my expectations in communications.  I will need to be specific in how I want to students to submit their questions, comments and answers.  Having a FAQ section may be helpful for all.

There are advantages and disadvantages to synchronous and asynchronous instruction that should be considered in planning instruction.  Developing a pattern of teaching will be helpful to my students and me.

I need to think about my preferred teaching style when I design my lessons.  I will need to carefully select technology tools that will be appropriate for the lessons and appeal to the different learning styles of my students.

I will need to continuously review and reflect on the courses that I teach and include multiple sources and types of evaluations.  It will also be important for me to keep up with changes in technology.

I learned more about how to appropriately use student self-assessment and peer assessment. I got more insight into how both forms of assessment can be helpful to my students. 

I have learned that it is important to build a dynamic syllabus for an online course.  I also learned that it is important to define and give examples of the types of responses that I expect my students to give in community discussions.

I learned the importance of creating a database to store content such as graphics, videos, and other learning tools.  I can use this database to select content for the different courses I teach.
