I’ve learn from this module Getting Started Meeting the class for the First Time are the following: How to make a positive first impression with your students (pronounce their name correctly and remember their name), Video on What make a Great Class (Head, Heart, Gut), To Do List (Introduction and Handouts, Overview and Requirements, Additional Guidelines) Motivating Students, Video on Class Participation, Optional Activities and Ending the Class. In addition Iiked the Knowledge Btye questions that made you think responses to questions on How should the students feel as they leave the first class?

I’ve learned from this Module on Effective Teaching Strategies the following: Preparing to Teach, Instructional Component, Using a Textbook, Selecting Supplemental Materials, Goal Setting and Instructional Objectives, Developing a Syllabus, and The Teaching Environment. Each of the aforementioned provided a road map and tools to help develop skills sets for becoming an Instructor and provide instructional information in a positive learning environment for the students.

As an effective instructor and creating and maintaining a positive role must have the five C's, Credible, Candid, Compassionate, Committed and Clear. Also, Instructors need to be competent in three major areas if they are to succeed in the instructional process, which are (1)Technical competence is the knoweldge of the subject matter to be taught and the skills involved in its application, (2) Professional competence is the ability to plan instrudtionalky deliver content, and assess student learning and (3) Persoal competence is the ability to project one's personality into the instructional setting to facilitate maximum learning opportunities.  In… >>>

I enjoyed this course and appreciate the valuable information on soft skills, adaptability, problem solving, conflict resolution and self- motivation.  I've learned one of the most important goals of a college education is the preparation for success in the world of work.  Also, if you're pursuing a nursing career, you'll need to practice and develop soft skills as you build technical and medical skills.

I've learned why soft skills are important, such as listening, collaborating with others, presenting ideas and communicating with team members are all highly valued in the modern workplace and now virtual platform.  In the healthcare profession, soft skills are in fact more important and very much necessary for a person to be a good human being as well as to succeed in this profession.
