I agree! I asked "why" so much but it really does put a person on the defensive.

It's comforting to know that even if a student is initially uninterested;  I can still keep the relationship open and check back in.

I learned that having work sheets really makes value identification and presenting so much easier.

I learned the importance and value of telephone communication. I absolutely hate talking on the phone for business so it's something I definitely need to practice.

Comment on Claire Frisbee's post: This is a great tip! I think it's important to be honest with "customers" and let them know what's going on so they don't think you're rude while you tie something up on your end and provide great customer service when you're finished.

Mirroring makes so much sense but I never really thought about it.

I learned to keep my intended purpose in mind when communicating and pivot when necessary if I'm getting away from that.
