This lesson was a great overview and reminds us that communication truly is a bridgebuilding process.

I found that there are many technology-based tools out there to help in more efficient communication with students. Additionally, I found that social media is also a valid tool which is often overlooked in student-to-teacher communication.

Efficient online classroom management is critical for the success of an online, async, environment. It is important that students feel validated and that there is equal room for learning and growth. What I found to be interesting was the section on disruptive learners; thankfully, I've never experienced this but it is good to know what resources and methods there are to mitigate this risk.

I thoguht this was a great section and with regards to the topic at hand I felt that it was very important to engage learners through providing real-world, substantive, examples of how the concept we're talking about plays out in the real world. I aim to encourage our students and "priase the effort" while working to provide a foundation of upward mobility.

Projecting presense is critical for the success of online learners. As an instructor, it is our job to show that although we may be far outside of a trasitional classroom there is still someone there to support their learning journey. It lets them know that they're not alone.

One of the primary things that I learned/found enjoyable was the doctrine that online learning has a lot of room for creativitiy and innovation for both student and instructor alike. This said, it is important to note that the role of online instructors are to serve as active facilitators and guides to the challenges students will naturally face during the course of an online class. Overall, good section!
