As a new instructor, this course taught me several things to equip me and allow me to go and be the best online instructor I can be.

In this module I learned that any and all classroom aids you can use to help students gain retention on the subject matter is appreciated and useful.  The stats of students reading, listening and retaining information is helpful for future lesson plan development.  Most importantly, don't overload the students with too much information on a particular subject matter as they will not retain it.

One thing I learned in this section is to ensure every student feels like they can be part of the class especially by introducing themselves and stating something about themselves and what they hope to gain out of the semester.   In addition, I will be introducing myself and telling the class something about my background and experience to develop a rapport with them.

Planning and preparation are key to a students success. Little things to keep in mind as an instructor have great influences on student dynamics such as arriving to class early, knowing their names, and effectively communicating with them what their learning objectives should be when completing the class.

I know that my students are looking to my experience, knowledge, and professionalism about their subject matter to learn from.   It is up to me to make sure I adhere to their needs while always striving to improve myself in these matters.

In this module,I learned how to identify several factors that can assist in students' learning as well as keeping track of students' participation in class including: keeping course records. communicating with students, counseling students. dealing with undesirable behavior. resolving student conflicts, and minimizing student attrition.

There are different type of discussions when teaching a class.  Two of these methods are Asynchronous and Synchronous discussions. Asynchronous discussions are primarily discussions when used overall when teaching a large class. Synchronous discussions are better when you have a smaller class or can even instruct students one on one.  This type of discussions helps students whom may have a slower learning comprehension. Students have different learning styles such as competitive, dependent, and avoidance.

The instructor should share their biography, authority, and experience with the students as it relates to the course.  Also, the instructor should develop a personal relationship with each student, knowing they have your support and can communicate with you at any time if they have a question or problem to solve.

An instructor should become very familiar with the content,  videos, terms, and quizzes for the online course as well as any technical aspects that may arise as a question from a student  The instructor should be very versatile and flexible in teaching the course contents with effective communication, as well as being able to assist a student to pass the course.
