I absolutely love Career Services and the value we bring to our healthcare community! The word advocate is exactly who we are.. not the salesman... we advocate on behlaf of the graduate, and we also are advocates of the employer sharing their organizations with our graduates. 

I will usually advise the graduate/ student to visit the location they woudl like to work, or use LinkedIn to connect with people who work there and conduct an informational interview. Interivew the workers to see if it is somewhere they would like to work. It allows them to see the environment, culture, customers, etc. 

I learned its not just Cateer Services responsible for placement outcome, all departments are responsible. In our univetsity, I see this in action. 

Reply to Isaac Nguyen's post: I agree, Isaac!! Our attitudes shape our reality. What stuck out to me was the quote, "atttitude controls your life, but you control your attitude." This sticks out becuase attitude is a choice. If we see things through a positive light, others will gravitite towards the sunshine with you.
