Eric, You make a good point. Students who are left to come up with their own solutions sometimes reach the wrong conclusions, when this occurs misinformation is spread throughout their circle of friends and it is similar to a wildfire that is out of control. It takes some time to get the wildfire back under control when all that needed to be done in the beginning is clarify the facts. Cindy Bryant

Margaret, Thank you for sharing how you handle a student's frustration. I thought it was great the way you ask the student for their thoughts on resolution. Cindy Bryant

Michele, Thank you, it sounds as if you completely understand the importance of working within your boundaries and making sure the student is receiving information from the correct department. Many times associates want to feel as if they know all the answers but misrepresentation is a critical area that a college cannot afford to risk. Therefore we must take a step back and be satisfied with the knowledge of knowing where to direct the student for the correct information. :) Cindy Bryant

Wes, You have summarized the need for a career college well. Many people find themselves "stuck" in a dead-end job and they need a career to support their family. Career colleges aspire to assist students achieve these goals through education, motivation and soft skills. Cindy Bryant
Warren, Great response! Students need to take the first step in determining which school they would like to attend and that begins with research. Your position should remain neutral but sometimes students may need help in defining what they should be comparing. Cindy Bryant

Ethan, Bravo! What a great statement. If we can continue to be positive and do good things the media will eventually turn around. Cindy Bryant
DIANA, Thank you for sharing your best practices with the forum. I especially applaud you for using a variety of techniques to keep your students interest in the classroom. Cindy Bryant
Paula, Let's focus on 'good attitude' for a moment. A positive attitude leads to an effective workplace which encourages employees to become involved in college's success. Employees invite career development so that they may be part of future company projects. A negative attitude leads to turnover and a loss of experienced staff members, which degrades the college's ability to grow. This trickles down into your college's ability to retain students. Cindy Bryant
Yvonne, I like your statement. Exceeding expectations in a world where many times expectations are never met means so much. I am sure that your faculty and staff appreciate your leadership. Cindy Bryant
Kimball, It is good that you are encouraging your students to read the disclosures, you may want to try asking open ended questions to subtly test their knowledge. Cindy Bryant
