Irene, Students should always have a voice in their education. If a student feels that they have been mislead or are not being treated fairly they should "stand up" and we as a sector should listen. I would hope that we have reached a poin that this is occurring behind the schools doors not in front of the medias camera. Cindy Bryant

Judy, I totally understand your concern; we walk a very fine line with such individuals and ADA. People with disabilities have the need to and determination to be successful but not always the ability. Working with students who have disabilities is becoming more prevalent as we see veterans returning from the war with specific issues related to combat. This is new territory for most of us. Deborah, It is always more comfortable to stay in familiar territory. I would encourage you to refer the students back to the catalog as often as possible. This builds the value of the catalog. Cindy Bryant

Justin, Scheduling and SAP is a tedious process that can keep you very busy. I always would consult the catalog regarding the SAP policy due to it's intricacies. Cindy Bryant

Judy, I agree, that as an adjunct it is difficult to stay abreast of all of the changes and issues on campus. I would encourage you to keep a calendar (in the event of a student complaint) with a designated day to follow up with the student to ensure that their issue has been addressed. Cindy Bryant
