Calvin, It is unfortunate that students would threaten unfounded complaints but they are human. My position is to not be held hostage to a students threats. Richard, It is not unusual for a student to circumvent the instructor when seeking resolution to a complaint or concern. Many times the student feels intimidated by the instructor whether for good cause or not. In this case the Program Chair or Dean must assume the role as liaison for the student. Having a 'next step' opportunity allows the student to feel that they have an opportunity to be heard. Cindy Bryant
