Students must have the proper education on lab rules/instruction prior to starting their practice in the live lab setting.

Using a rubric system is a good idea to use when considering performance evaluation in the lab/shop setting.

We have to take into consideration the different type of learning styles of students, because we must set up each student to succeed when teaching.

Using theories like Bloom's Taxonomy will help with providing proper teaching.

When demonstrating in a lab setting for skills, break down the steps to 5 to 7 since it has been proven humans retain information when it is maintained in that range.

Showing how you came into teaching and the living you have made from their same career path gives students that motivation to understand the content being taught in a course.

Even if we are experts in the material we are teaching, preparing will allow the best outcomes not only for your students but also to yourself as a new instructor.

I learned that your teaching style comes from more than just your personality. And that it is okay that it doesn't come naturally but it means you must put in the effort to perfect it for your students.
