Being a student motivator does not include being their "friend."

I've known about different learning styles and how to teach for each one. The sad thing that just dawned on me during this presentation was that I need to know what my current class' learning styles are! (Insert sad horn sound here.) What do I plan on doing? My students take a learning style inventory at the beginning of the semester to help them know their learning style, but we don't have them communicate the results with the instructors. I'm going to have them post their report in the gradebook so that I can take an inventory of my classes… >>>

Great tips that I'll be using for my classes!

I learned the 4 types of classroom management & which I am, the closest to, & which is the best to be:

  1. The controller
  2. The guide
  3. The buddy
  4. The Apathete

I thought being the "Buddy" type was the best as I felt it made me relatable with the students; however, I now see that is not the issue and will be working towards becoming a Guide.
