How you coach has a signifant impact on the performance and satifaction of coachees.

Creating opportunities for students to develop a connection to other students and staff will be important.  Reminding students often to their end goal and why they chose our school in the first place, leads to student persistence/perseverance and increase student retention.

Creating an environment of trust, and the connection is important without taking on the responsibility of the student's issue is important.

Understanding that "we become what we think and, to some extent, we become what others think of us" is a powerful concept for all levels of staff to understand.

Being aware that how we react and respond to student concerns makes a difference and encourages student retention.

Students need to be heard, respected and appreciated.  It is important to emphasize to employees on all levels of contact that these qualities must be conveyed consistently and genuinely.
