Minimizing attrition can be done by alleviating alienation, excessive workload, competition and technical issues.

Preparation is key. Preparing students prior to class allows for a more positive learning experience.

I've learned that it's important to engage students by getting to know them and allowing them the opportunity to know each other. Something interesting I've learned is if you have students that live or work in close proximity, they should be encouraged to meet and engage in face-to-face discussions.

A course management system (CMS) delivers course content and simultaneously tracks student performance.

I've learned quite a few things in this module. What stood out the most is that people learn in 3 basic ways, attention span is 15-18 minutes and we only remember about 25% of what we hear, amazing.

As a student it was important for me to feel comfortable with my classmates and instructor. I recalled that some instructors were kind while others ate their young. I vowed to never be that instructor and to always be kind to my students.

I've learned that preparation is key. When you are prepared your students know it, it shows.
