Activity

“I am committed to fostering cultural competence by respecting diversity, practicing empathy, and engaging in lifelong learning to promote inclusion and equity.”

Will need to adapt lessons for different needs (e.g, visual aids, hands-on activities, varied reading levels).

When we honor students' languages, we honor their cultures. We keep them engaged in content and help connect ideas through discussions, projects, or classroom materials.

Be aware that students' racial identities can impact their school experience (discipline, expectations, representation in curriculum).

Focusing on inclusion means intentionally creating environments where everyone feels respected, valued, and able to contribute.   We will need to make space for quieter individuals or underrepresented groups to share their ideas.
