I learned that the same type of behaviors that are seen in the classroom ( noisy, quiet, disruptive, etc) are also seen in the e-learning environment, but is harder to detect. I need to be able to identify these behaviors early on and be able to manage it.

 

I learned the difference between asynchronous and synchronous discussions and that synchronous is not recommended for critical course content. I will make sure to mostly use asynchronous discussions unless it is with one student at a time.

 

I learned that you project your presence, project your authority, and establish a relationship the same way, whether face-to-face or e-learning. I just need to make sure that i do what is recommended to be successful.

 

I have learned that there a lot of elements to e-learning. I need to make sure that i am totally familiar with and comfortable with the delivery techniques and strategies of the delivery format. If i'm not familiar or am uncomfortable then that will make things uncomfortable for the student. I've also learned how important my presence is to the student to ensure their comfort. I also need to make sure that i comprehend the course content completely.
