I actually learned quite a bit about rubrics. It is importnt to make sure the rubrics are creted to provide student centered learning, provide formative feedback and used as a self reflection and or peer constructive criticism process. It should align with the learning outcomes of the assignment.

Cheryl

I have learned there are different types of rubrics. Generic which is more general however can emphazie specific features and thean Task specific.  Rubrics provides consistency in grading.

I enjoyed this module. It stressed the importance of balancing content with presentation. Another key takeawy was deliverying information in chuncks such as modules is more effective. Lastly, it is important to make the student feel they are part of the learning community.

Authetic assessment involves a holistic approach. It needs to be learning outcome driven and involve critical thinking skills, Standarized tests, do not measure learner outcomes.

This module focused on Maximixing the student output and was very informatve. The key taake away here for me was when students encourgaed to use multi media devices they become more dynamic and critical thinkers. Students then feel empowered and feel their ideas are valued. When this occurs, students tend to stay fully engaged.

Many things stood out to me however, my key takeaway is for the instructor to understand the various learnng styles and apply them to the learning process. Customization is key and learning is more effective when it is multidimensional and encourages the student to gather information or inout as they deem effective such as the use of Multi Mobile Connections (MMC).

Wow!

I learned a great deal from this module. Some keytakeaways are to make sure the online classroom is as dynamic as paossible, meaning a variation of blended content to maximize the learning ouput. In addition To increase the individulaixed learning experinece tools can be used such as blogs or journals, Wikis, and networking features. Great content. I plan to use blogs or journals for some of my classes moving forward even if it is not part of the gradebook.

I learned what a Community of Practice ( CoP)  is:  a group of individuals who have similar tasks or goals for solving an authentic problem.

I also lezrned 8 Techniques for effective online communication

  1. Always use a descriptive subject line.
  2. Use appropriate tone.
  3. Use bulleted items to make messages more concise and to the point.
  4. Use spelling and grammar checks and review the message carefully before sending.
  5. Attach necessary documents.
  6. Use appropriate email address.
  7. If asking for a solution to a problem which is then provided by the instructor, respond not only noting they understand the solution, but also summarize
  8. >>>

I learned that setting expectations is cruical to a students sucess at the beginning of each class. In addition, my students with disabilities may need more formative feedback before assignments are due to increase there level of understanding and success.

I have learned it is important to provide feedback, however allow students to respond to each other and then guide them on the side.
