About me

Hello,

 Ed 101:

WOW!  What a learning experience this has been.  I can't wait to implement the suggestions regarding

Organization of class time and activities to keep the class interesting.  I teach Court Reporters and the students find

that several learning skills combined are  required in the course.  The course is based on skill and knowledge.

Activity

This course was most helpful in making me realize how a student is every department's responsibiity.

That the faculty and staff must understand, if the student is successful then we are successful.  I for

one don't want to feel defeated when it comes to a student.  I want to feel I've contributed to their

success by bringing all my experience to the table.  Student retention depends on what we as faculty and staff

want for our students and the students must feel this from day one of their class start.

We add a lot to course when adding our own skills and knowledge. The syllabus is a great tool to make sure we keep on track. This causes less confusion for the student.
A lot of information. Very informative about the state requirements and licensures. Very good to know that someone is looking out and being held accountable.
Every institution must have a plan of action that covers the student and the institution when it comes to safety, education and finances. There should be a check list of these items and where one can obtain them if needed.
I'm finding out a lot about compliance through this on-line course. Very informative in helping me understand why the compliance standards are so important.
We should strive to always uphold the rules. Our institution's credibility is at stake. Students should be told the truth, have procedures in writing, so if there are questions, they should be answered the same way with an outline of the answer. Staff should be well informed regarding the rules and regulations or at least know where they can get the information requested.

Annmarie, I agree. Instructors should offer their course information in many ways in order to reach all of their students.

I've had classes that included new graduates from high school and those that have been out of

school for many  years.   There is a difference in how the older student learns verses the new high school graduate.

Offering additional assistance has always been helpful for me.

ED 101

This course offered so many great ideas for planning and teaching.  Many of the activites are a plus

since the adult learner brings so much to the table, we must capture them from the beginning of the

course and keep them until it ends.

WOW!!  What a great learning experience.  The classroom organization and activity ideas

are just what I needed to jumpstart my upcoming quarter.  I've already started planning

my first day.

I teach a 5 hour class and this really puts the attention span to the test. I'm able to move my classroom to another location. For example, we will have class in the student lounge and get a soda. I'll present the topic before we leave the classroom and break the students up in groups when we get to the lounge. It seems a little change of scenery helps with focusing and it's like an activity to them.
