It is important to recognize student's learning preferences to best offer them information in ways they prefer, such as group-work, lecture, videos etc. This will help tailor learning to what the learner prefers and hopefully keep them engaged and learning. But, it is also important to recognize when students are facing learning challenges as these should be addressed as soon as possible for students to have the best opportunity. 

It is important as educators that we understand that those learning in a language that is different than their first, that they have adequate access to resources in their primary language. If a person is not fluent in the language they are expected to learn in, we must ensure that they have access to resources that they need to not only understand the content but the language in which it is being presented. 

One of the things I found most interesting in this part of the module and will use in my practice is to recognize how cultural differences may affect how our words and actions are perceived and how we perceive the words or actions of others. For example, the way one reacts to a scenario, a joke they make, or their style of listening may make them seem aloof or disinterested, however this is their cultural norm. I have learned to avoid stereotypes in my teaching by making myself aware, through self-reflection, of the most common ones and actively trying to avoid them in my teaching to provide equal opportunity and learning for all students.
