I just had back-to-courses which included three hearing impaired students. There were a variety of issues, but several stood out the most. In the first course we had to deal with prejudice. The joking around, and misconception that they are not smart because they can't hear or speak as clearly as everyone else, was an issue that had to be addressed. There were students who were impatient due to the extra time needed for the hearing impaired students to assimilate the information from the lectures and reviews.
