There are challenges to e learning for both the instructor and students and in both cases strategies must be used to organize information and files, stay on task and stay committed to learning.   Educators must help their students to stay on task and work in this environment to avoid attrition.  

In most cases asynchronous discussions are easier to handle.  To keep students engaged providing positive thoughtful responses and requesting students to comment on other's comments is helpful.

You can build a professional relationship with your students through sharing your experience and educational background, and having them share their biography with you.

There are several ways to deliver course content and using a variety helps keep students engaged and interested.   Any way of delivery must be well planned out and prepared for ahead of time.  

You want your students to walk away with a feeling of comfort and that they can be successful in the course.  

It is important to be well prepared with. clear objectives, and to be on time.   A syllabus is a contract between the teacher and student and the more detailed the easier it is for students to meet the expectations.  

Educators in the classrooms model, manage and motivate their students by being professional, knowledgeable about the subject matter, punctual, appropriately dressed, and excited about what they are teaching.
