I have a problem with students talking and just today I said, 'You can have two more minutes of this break and then we will continue.' It worked; they all became quiet and listened after about two minutes.
Such small things can make a difference. Be at the classroom door before class greeting students as they arrive in the classroom is one that I will now practice.
My understanding of instructional alignment is where the goals, objectives, teaching methods, and outcomes align with the students' needs and abilities and with the standards of the profession(s) that are related to the coursework.
