Managing difficult interactions is hard work. But worth the effort.  Difficult conversations become easier to handle you are able to prevent situations from getting out of hand, it helps with moral, strenghtens work relationships and increases productivity.

Managing difficult interactions is hard work. But worth the effort.  Difficult conversations become easier to handle you are able to prevent situations from getting out of hand, it helps with moral, strenghtens work relationships and increases productivity.

Conflict in the workplace is a natural occurance of interacting with one another and cost of resolving conflict is relative to the cost of leaving clnflicts unresolved.  Although it is best to determine whether it is a long or short term working relationship when deciding whether or not to addresses.  In all instances in conflict resolution it is always best to work on your listening skills to be objective, empathic and open to trying to understand the other person's feelings and underlying issues that may change the dynamics of each situation.

The simple approach of listening, and clarifying by restating what the other person is saying and several advantages, it increases the listener's undestanding of the other person; it can help to clarify their thoughts and reassuare the other that person that they are willing to attend to the other's point of view.  Reflectiving listens is the best way to determine the other's frame of ferference and avoid the temptation to respond with indifference and objectivitiy.
