Activity

I noted the difference between tactile and kinesthetic learning, which is not something I was previously aware of. I can incorporate more activities that better address the differentiation.

The idea of face-to-face feedback as a way to grow strengths a little at a time would be an opportunity for me to add in real life.

The content made me think about how we go about teaching problem solving and creativity.

In reviewing each element, I think teaching and allowing time for self reflection would be a valuable component for my students.

In reflection, I was surprised to see how many elements of UDL I already have within my courses. This was a surprise since I have not studied UDL until now.

In reflection, I already innately incorporate many of the elements discussed. I have some training in web design representation for equal access, which carries over into the classroom environment.

The UDL framework is new for me. I am looking forward to learning more in future modules. I feel like I need a better understanding of assessment and implementation to make informed decisions on how I would (or would not) employ this concept.

I like the 3 month follow up strategy via email. I think I will try this with my next cohort.

Our students do complete a learning styles assessment, but I sometimes wonder how accurate it is. I have a struggling learner right now. Tomorrow, I will ask him how he learns a new hobby. I hope his answer will give me insight on how he learns better.

The idea of 60 bpm as a tempo to facilitate learning was novel. I do some class singing/dancing for myotomes and dermatomes. Now I am curious how many bpm our tunes use. I will go back and time it to see.
