There is a lot more to just "listening" than I have ever thought of! 

Non verbal listening is just as critical as verbal silence in listening. 

You have two ears and one mouth. Listen more and talk less!

Asking questions is the key to an engaging conversation. It is that simple!

Creating action steps for students is a great way to increase buy in as well as continued relationship building! 

I had not thought of objections being a good thing prior to this section. This does highlight that the student finds it worthwhile to continue the conversation as opposed to ghosting their advisor! 

Keeping and finding the end goal in mind was what was most beneficial with this course. Every strategy of communication should be with the goal of establishing and building a relationship of trust with the perspective student and family!

This module was good to identify why we have done certain things in our Admissions process, but also seeing that we are not the only institution running into the same hurdles. This module is good to stir up questions and reevaluating how we should adapt to meet the student's needs while keeping the same goal of establishing a solid relationship.
