In this module, I learned that Motivational Interviewing is a person-centered approach that helps individuals strengthen their own motivation and commitment to change rather than being told what to do. I gained a better understanding of the importance of active listening, empathy, open-ended questions, affirmations, and encouraging change talk to help participants identify their own reasons for making positive changes.

I plan to apply these skills by creating a supportive and respectful environment where participants feel heard and empowered. I will also use Motivational Interviewing techniques to navigate resistance collaboratively and help individuals clarify their goals and develop confidence in… >>>

  

We need to let students express their needs and their desire to take action so we can help them define goals and develop an action plan together.

 Motivational interviewingi is a communication technique that helps individuals explore their goals, resolve ambivalence, and  strengthen their motivation to make positive changes. It is besedon active listening, empathy, and support to increase confidence and commitment to achieving their goals. 

Lasting motivation is often strongest when people feel they are making their own choices, believe they can succeed, and feel connected to others. Therefore, I try to help learners identify personally meaningful goals and build confidence through achievable steps.
