About me

Hello!  I am a recovering math teacher who is an instructional coach at a local CTE.

As I read this section, GOOGLE SUITES kept screaming in my brain.  Interactive documents, spread sheets, presentations and  drawings.  Google classroom as a LMS.  Not to mention google meet for synchronous learning.   All working seamlessly together.... maybe this should be added to this section instead of only a nod to Google Docs?

Rubrics help both teacher and student know what expectations are and fairly assess whether or not those expectations have been met.

The learning on how different generations communicate was very interesting.  I'm wondering what thoughts or techniques have proven helpful with students who are not self-motivated?

It is so important to set up the rules and consequences before the class begins.  I like the idea of a rubric also, this helps students know exactly what is expected of them and will help ensure their success.  I wonder about how to monitor S2S communication where the teacher is "off limits".

I appreciate the framework of questions to consider when chosing a format for communication.  I also appreciate reading some pros and cons that I may not have thought have myself.

I think the power of organization can be overlooked.  Finding what you need quickly is a gift and the time that is spent upfront to be able to do that is well spent.

I appreciate the clarity of recommendations for sychronus vs. asynchronus activities.  I wonder if the number of students that function well in a synchronus setting might change based on the availability of a break out session like zoom has?

Creating relationships with students can be more challenging in an online environment.  There were several suggestions of how to establish relationships using biographies that I am thankful to have.

There are many questions that need to be considered when it comes to elearning.  Sometimes the answers might be institutional, sometimes they might be individual to the instructor.  It is super important to have clear communication with students about expectations.
