In coaching we speak about seeing the client and seeing as the client. In adult education this means not only recognizing who the learner is, with their history, pressures, culture, and lived experience, but also stepping inside their frame of reference long enough to understand how the material looks and feels from their side of the screen. When we teach adults this way, learning shifts from information delivery to meaningful engagement, because we are responding to a real person rather than an abstract role called student.

Three ways of kearnin- Content, challenge assumptions, and learn something about themselves.

Giving the goals and objectives for the course, but in the case of nursing, I want to  show how my GED course will contribute to their degree and give them clear goals that support their role as a nurse.

Coming in early and getting a feel for the students and building the relationships. This allows you to get a feel and footing for the course and the students.

I have learned about the importance of and how to develop a learning and development plan for teaching.  This is critical because teaching is changing quickly with technology and the accessability to knowledge. Education in the classroom is shifting to more of a curator of knowledge and application and developing thinking skills than sharing knowledge and theory.  Having a learning and development plan allows you to keep up with the pace of change and the demands of teaching.
