Learning preferences and having the ability to have different teaching strategies to meet each student is a priority. We also have to be reminded that learning difficulties do not necessarily mean that the student is less capable but may need accomodations for the curriculum. 

You really have to meet the learner way they are... Even if this means indentifying what is the native language and working to ensure the comprehension is happening. 

Culture and race have a place in diversity. However, race is based on society differences and the physical.

I have learned to ensure that I cater my teaching style to every student. To also be aware of biases and stereotypes that not only we have but sometimes our students.
