I have learned that by engaging with diverse students, you can learn to see the world from multiple and a variety of perspectives, develop critical thinking skills, cultivate empathy, gain cultural understanding, and become more open-minded to the needs of students. Additionally, we are capable of learning to better understand and appreciate different experiences and viewpoints, leading to richer learning and personal growth.

Educator workload, stress and burnout as well as student's not buying in and thinking SEL lessons/content is boring and/or a waste of time.

social-emotional learning principles are present when students can anticipate consequences and/or when students are able to evaluate outcomes.

In my opinion, I would say Social Emotional Learning (SEL) gives the opportunity to help students of all ages to better comprehend their emotions, to feel those emotions fully, and demonstrate empathy for others in a positive manner by building and fostering healthy relationships amongst one another.

So far, I have understood that engaging with diverse views helps us to meet students where they are, and to build the kind of school/campus community across different spectrums that is essential for a vibrant environment.
