This is highly outdated in a post covid world with the current political climate

I like the idea of creating templates of which leadership styles work best for certain situations or follow groups. that way I can plug and play quickly

This is the first time i've seen Situation as an entity independent of Leader and Follower. I will use this in future analysis and preparation

I need to be intentional and focus on creating and sustaining energy that empowers, rather than restricts, my team.

My leadership style is constantly evolving. At its base, my philosophy is a relentless and consistently productive pursuit of team goals.

In practice, most positions require  both skill sets.

Leadership as a process, independent of the individual, is a helpful perspective. By that definition, leadership could come from pets or technology

The negative connotation of management is a real bias that needs to be checked for and corrected. Strong managers are essential to organizational success.

I recall my first student. I was a first semester grad student in biomedical engineering; my student was a freshman with aspirations in the same field.  As I began explaining a biochemical pathway, it became clear this student had no knowledge whatsoever of the concept of 'electrons'.  I had assumed that this student, having graduated high school and demonstrated a passion for science, would have a baseline skill set.

Common sense is often not common, even less so the more geographically and culturally diverse our classrooms become.  In order to serve our broad communities, we must recognize these opportunities.

In active learning, it is important that we communicate early and often the demands of the students. Many of our students have not yet had experience working in situations that require prolonged and consistent excellence.  It is our responsibility to create momentum within them
