Auditors should not inject their personal opinions into audit findings. The findings should be clearly articulated and based on factual data.

An area that is often overlooked until just before an audit is faculty and staff professional development and continuing education. Schools need to ensure not only full-time faculty complete professional development, but adjunct faculty. I have seen this cited as a weakness at many institutions. 

Until completing this section, I was not aware that exit counseling needed to be completed by students who reduced to less than half-time enrollment status. 

It is very important to agree to the definitions of commonly used key terms. The term I see a lot of confusion around is "Cancel." I can ask 5 people what a cancel is and will probably get 5 different answers. 

I agree with the presenter that our students are the best sources for referrals. I also find that retention for student referred students is higher than all other categories.

I always thought that admissions scripts were one of the best ways to ensure that admissions staff conduct thorough, meaningful interviews. After completing this module, it's clear to me now that admissions scripts limit the amount of useful information you will get from a prospective students during the interview. 

The most important thing I got from this module is that of all the skills an admissions professional must possess, attitude is the most important, and all the other skills are useless if you don't have the right attitude.

This course had me thinking about some of the bad habits that I have incorporated into my lecturing. Specifically, I have a tendency to pace around the classroom when lecturing. I will be more conscious of this going forward. 

Always have a space identified that can be used as a visiting team room. This room should have internet access, printer/copier access, telephone access and be equipped with necessary office supplies. It should be clean and free from anything that could be considered a FERPA violation. Ideally, this space would be in close proximity to your POC.

Institutions should always be prepared for a visit. The time to prepare should not be when the agency sends an email informing you that they'll be on campus tomorrow. It is helpful to have a visitor binder, which is constantly updated with current student listing, completion rates, placements rates, current org chart, class schedules and the school catalog. Has this available will show the schools commitment.
