Getting over one's fears of facilitating an online course seems very important to me. I am also intrigued with the notion of increasing student participation through pre-structured prompts and activities. 

I especially like the idea of using both formative and summative evaluation. This provides an indication of how much each learner, and how much the entire group has moved toward the course objectives. 

As I will be conducting short seminars, the pre/post assessment may not, however, be expedient.

I am reminded of the saying that if all you have is a hammer, the whole world looks like a nail! I need to assess the learning outcomes I desire and match them to the technology that I have available to me.
