I work to create rapport with all of my students and that they feel seen each class.   I am glad this coincides with what veterans with PTSD need to thrive in my classroom.

It is good to know how best to help a student with accommodation needs, especially how best to encourage then and teach them strategies.

One of my students told me of their severe TBI and how they had to relearn to do everything.

Understanding the different ways that a student could be dealing with PTSD is helpful.

I really liked this section!  I spend alot of time already on creating to do lists, but never really thought of writing down may stressors and learning to eliminate, reduce or cope with them in a healthy way!

I like the idea of writing down any stressors I am experiencing.  This allows me to identify them and plan a way to eliminate/reduce them.

It is worth it to put in extra time up front when beginning as an instructor for a particular class.  I have found this does free up loads of time for me in future repeats of the same class.

This aligns with other books I have ready like "Getting Things Done" that stresses the importance of "brain-dumping" your tasks to free up your mental energy and then prioritize the list to get it done!

Great advice on reaching out to other instructors for help.  I have used humor many times when a student points out an error or mistake.

I appreciate the way this lesson wants us to understand where the students are coming from and not just immediately assume the worst based on their initial behavior.
