Establishing procedures and expectations alleviates behavior problems and leaves no room for accidents, especially during laboratory acitivities.

Student suverys are extremly helpful in collecting information about students' interests and goals. Creating a positive learning environment and knowing your students is a way to avoid and/or manage behavior and academic challenges students might face. 

Community partners are essential component of any CTE program. Our department is working diligently with our community partners on internships, scholarships, curriculum standards, and relevant work skills. 

It is extremely important to be professional with all your students while building strong student-teacher relationships. CTE teachers have a great responsibility to model professional world from their experiences, which is extremely valuable for our students. 

I've learned about the Perkins Funds and the history of CTE. In addition, I've learned about POS Design Framework components and how they apply to my program.
