One perspective I like utilizing a variety of instructional approaches is the ability to show students other ways to study and learn that they may not have tried before. Group work is essential!

I love that the module pointed out that just because the information is presented in a person's first language does not mean that they are literate in that language. Becoming literate in a language is a process and it doesn't all happen at once (reading/writing and speaking).

The module mentioned the term multicultural as being characterized negatively in the political scene, but I have never viewed it as negative. I do feel it is an appropriate term to describe our students, classroom, and society. I like the connotation that the cultures are viewed and not casting a blind eye to one or more other cultures.

This module reinforced the way I practice and teach the students through modeling the behavior and instructing them on how to care for their diverse group of patients by being mindful of various upbringings and experiences everyone brings to an interaction/relationship.
