I would love to take the TC personality test to see if my TC personality traits are the same as I suspect, and if they align with my results on the BMTI. Also, I have often asked my students how they learn the best and ask questions to get to know them. I will now consider their personality types when meeting with them (for additional assistance in learning and retaining the material) and allow them to choose the activities to support their personality type instead of choosing them based on topic!

I enjoyed learning how the ION traits corresponded to the TC personality traits, and loved the example about how you could incorporate someone with two, opposite TC personality traits!

The greatest takeaway was recognizing strengths, weaknesses, and stressors for each of the four personality types, and knowing how to recognize these in our coworkers and learners to avoid potential conflict.

I hope to discover how I can engage with online learners better by recognizing my personality traits and their personality traits, then developing a plan that works for each of the students I work with. I also want t explore the True Colors personality traits, as these are new to me. I do see, though, how they relate and can account for how my personality traits lend to some of the decisions I make!

Blogs provide an avenue for students to share ideas, expand their knowledge, and provide feedback on posts shared by the instructor and student.

Microblogging is an excellent way for students to learn and share information online. It also helps them to develop writing skills in which they convey information concisely and succinctly.

There are several ways to assess student work on social media sites. The method of assessment, whether formative or summative, depends on the work the instructor is assessing.

Social networking is a tool that is overlooked in online education. It makes sense to use social media to assist students in learning concepts, as long as the instructor and students abide by the policies and maintain confidentiality. Additionally, instructors can use them to create polls for research and they can create rubrics to grade students on their contributions and participation. It is a great way to get students engaged in a course and build an online community for the students.

Various technologies are available to keep online learners actively engaged in the learning process. I intend to check out the following: ClassVR and Orlando Economic Partnership, as I think both would benefit nursing students.

Inactive learning occurs when students disengage from the learning process. This can happen for several reasons. Instructors must be prepared to connect with the students, observe them (or their online activity), and respond accordingly.
