I have learned that being consisting when addressing obstacles is really important because "you can never lose a student until you decide to give up."

I have learned that there are 4 components to making outbound calls: call introduction, probing, presentation, and close.

This module taught me the importance of interacting with the caller as though we are just having a conversation and not acting like we are trying to sell them something. We need to gather information by asking questions but we need to do that in a conversational way and not like an interrogation. This builds trust.

It's interesting that sales skills and product knowledge are such a small part of the essential skills of communication. This is good news for me because I naturally have a good attitude and people skills.

I learned that listening is the most important component of communication.

A lot of what was covered is information I already know but it was good to get affirmation that I understand communication pretty well. The principles that stood out the most for me were that's it's very important how you ask questions. You don't want to cause someone to become defensive. The other principle is body language. I feel like I may need to be more aware of mine.

I learned there is so much to consider when trying to properly communicate. I consider myself a good communicator, however, sometimes I do have trouble keeping control of the conversation. The guardrail  technique is something I could use to help better control the conversation.
