Being organized and prepared for your classes is key to a successful class.

Keep clear expectations but also keeping in mind that adult learners have busy lives. Creating a plan together can be helpful for them to stay on track.

I contact and authentic responses/facial expressions are important when actively listening.

Comment on william loughman's post: I definitely agree with your statement William. I think sometimes this can lead to the demise of a school or program.

Understanding that adult learners come from vastly different backgrounds and life scenarios is important when structuring your course as well as the routes to keep them on track.

It's important to always be looking for ways to improve your content where possible. Student feedback is always an excellent way to improve your content to better tend to their individual needs for learning.

Formative assessments are necessary in tracking student learning and progress throughout a unit. They can help the instructor determine gaps in student understanding and adjust lessons where necessary before a final summative assessment.

Scaffolding can help students learn more precisely by taking it in pieces. This can also allow them to build with knowledge they already have and can make the subject matter more relatable.

One thing I took away from this module is the importance of consistency when making materials. This helps students know what to expect for assignments and other materials throughout the semester.

I learned from this module that it is highly important for the students to feel safe and overall comfortable in class for the best outcome of their learning. I definitely want to work towards creating the best possible environment for my students each time they walk through the door to my classroom.
