I plan to use what I have learned in this course when deal with prospective and current students in our career programs. I will not come to these conversations with preconceived notions of what they can or cannot do. I found this course very helpful and informative.

As a career school I feel it is our responsibility to advise students of technical standards that are required in the career of their choice. For example, a deaf student would not be a wise applicant for a vascular ultrasound technician career as they would not be able to discriminate the sounds of Doppler. Some careers require the ability to transfer patients from a wheelchair to a gurney. How should we advise students without being discriminatory?
