Very broad statement by the speaker. A comment I would like to address, a career college is based on students to get an education such as health field topics to move out of the current environment that is not working for them now. In 9 months or more, they will have a diploma, certification (if pass the certification exam) to excel in the field they have studied.  Comments by the Dr., is well and appropriate for the student that has not dropped out of high school and is in the median of a well geographic environment. As an instructor, when I find out retention is due to pure lazy attitudes, one has to question why are they in school?

Being lazy is not going to keep them in a professional job is it?

Many of my students have no access to computers and sadly, some do not know how to use a computer.

However, they use the computers at the school with internet access that are developed by organizations

such as drugs.com, rxlist, etc. also school access to a library service from the school.

MedMD is far beyond WikiPedia for medical information.

I enjoyed the time reading and learning the relevance of the educational program. There are many troubled studens and

we can only do our best to direct them in a positive path.

I admit, I enjoy the one to one. The discussions stay focused and the ability to fine tune the challenge is quickly appeased by both students. I do not find any hinderance in a small group. We find sharing online resources and share what is new and what has helped the student. At times, they teach me something new!

Online is 24/7 and it has an intrinsic value for me because of the environment and time constraints.

Online helps my learning because of the quiet focusing time. I cannot not focus in a classroom when students are asking irrelavent questions. As an instructor, I make sure the environment stays focused in the classroom.
