Coaching sklls are important for anyone in leadership to possess regardless of the profession.  Coaching and providing specific feedback with details help the reciever to focus on actions and not behavior.  Providing detailed examples for receivers to visvualize their performance. Also, followup is key to coachng and feedback.  If you don't followup there is no need to coach. 

 

Students enjoy participation and interaction with the course instructor.  It shows students you care and in turn they may find it easy to ask question and stay with the course.

 

Best practices is to continuously review student evaluations and modify course content as needed to improve student learning outcomes.

Oftentimes teachers review evaluations as never but they are opportunities to improve.

 

Whether in the classroom or online, course content must be presented logically and easy to follow.  With that in mind, each instructor must be well planned and tested and in so doing that you must think and anticipate the audience's level of understanding.

It is also important for students to ask for clarity when a question is not clear to them.  It is important to set that level of openness for comfort to ask the instructor. Sometimes students will not ask for fear of bothering the instructor, however, the students' understanding is crucial for their succsss. 

Self and peer assessments are a valuable tool to improve student learning.  This is a valuable tool to assist students in the workforce when being evaluated. 

Conflicts must be dealt with in a professional and speedy manner whether online on face-to-face. Nevertheless, in an online format some may feel bolder since he or she is not visible therefore presenting the false since of grandure when responding. Consequently having an action plan and using some of the suggestions recommended from this course along with using snippets from policies will enhance the learning environment.  Also, when conflicts are resolved give learners an opportunity to use similar techniques with their own personal and professional problems. 

Positive feedback is essential in any setting or forum.  Ages 8 to 80 enjoy the warmth of positive feedback. Even a negative can be turned into something positive if we look hard enough. 

 

It is important to learn something about your students from the onset of the course and make mental notes.  Also, asking students what might hinder them from completing the course. The more you learn with help the instructor continue their learning goals.
