Student information is a delicate matter so if you do not interact with a student, you do not need their information, and information should never be shared unless policy states you may.

Information can be released with permission of the student and only for deemed necessary circumstances

Student information is utilized on a need to know basis and not to be shared with anyone that is not the student or does not educate/work with the student.
