It is always important to keep in mind why we are in the classroom to begin with! Being on time and prepared is part of it, but for me it is important to connect with each student every day. Some will need more personal interaction than others. Some will seek you out frequently during the class - others the instructor needs to make a point of checking in with during class. I always make a pint of knowing where the student lives what kind of commute they have and if they work etc etc.

By giiving the students a deailed syllabus it gives then dates and expectations of the course ahead of them. Sometimes changes need to made to accomodate holidays etc - it is important to give a printed or onluine revised version so they can follow along clearly.

Bosses are people too! We all work on workplaces with many people and personalities. As intelligent workers we are all figuring out how to get along with everyone we work with and this shouls of course include the boss! Howver it should go both ways! The bosses performance is only as good as ours! Most bosses are slow to notice or realize this and acknowledge it.

The purpose of the syllabus is clearly stated in this module and the syllabus once created needs to be adhered to. Sometimes it can be tempting to make changes but that can add to confusion for the students. It is important that all the students know that it is to be followed and they can therefore know what to expect each and every day before attending class.
