Sometimes I an the Systematic Problem Solver and other times I am the Intuitive Problem Solver.

Reflection is an important habit to develop with your students.

Critical Thinking is a preliminary step to ethical decision making. It's not just thinking something through. Ultilmately a decision has to be made and acted upon. That's the practical impact of critical thinking.

I do not think kids need to be taught critical thinking the way we are learning it in this course. Kids need to be kids. There is a natural development of infants-toddlers-children- preteen - teens - young adults - adults. Trying to influence the development of children to be mature and knowledgable before they are ready doesn't help them nor society.

Critical thinking skills being taught to adults is nice, because it lays out th theory for our experience in a way that helps us come to terms with ourselves and others. IF we had anything to come to terms… >>>

I can't say this training has brought more awareness of violence against women. I grew up with it. It is a reminder of how helpless I was. I'm on the lookout and do my best to be mindful of anything that may put a woman at risk. I'm Proactive. As a man, I set a strong tone that I do not tolerate any abuse of women. A bit old fashion but effective.

The only Social Media I use is LinkedIn. I could give facebook a try but I'm afraid what happened last time will happen again. As soon as I created a MySpace account and started reaching out to people, MySpace disappeard. If I create a FaceBook Account, the Mark Zuckerberg will sell off the company and dismantle it. I'll just stick to LinkedIn.

Transitioning is a step of the career managment process that people do not think about until its right at their front door.

The value of joining professional organizations is useful to a student in building those professional connections early on.

I learned some strategies for implementing critical thinking exercises in the classroom. I like the silent poster idea for my quiet introverted students to get their ideas out.

Interesting requirement that students can not be in an online class as anonymous. I don't require cameras on because of the recent hacking issues and I teach high school students in another college. However, they are in an environment where their student account gives them access to the web conferencing session. We need to be careful to balance security and privacy.
