People with disabilities just want to be treated like people without disabilities. We should treat all people with respect and in an educational environment we should refer applicants with disabilities to the appropriate coordinator.

The needs of people with disabilities is widespread and always growing. Institutions should have be flexible policies and procedures to address concerns as they arise.

This section provided insights to the many types of disabilities that exist and how each individual possesses different skills that help them succeed.  It also teaches us that many disabilities are not necessarily obvious.

I learned that all educational institutions are subject to the requirements of the Rehabilitation Act and the ADA not just schools receiving Federal Aid.  Also, that it is the responsibility of the individual to advocate for themselves by contacting the appropriate school official.
